General Information

How to get there

The main location is the same as the last years: The address is Mainaustraße 213, Konstanz, Germany, see map below. The University sports area is located in the small suburb 'Egg'.

Parking: There is an official parking site (see map below), which will charge you 1,50 euro per day. There are no other convenient parking sites.

Train/Bus: Take bus line 4/13 (timetable) from Konstanz 'Bahnhof' to 'Egg/Universität' and walk about 500m to the University sports area (see map below). Google Maps also knows about the bus schedules.

When to get where

We will have beer and music on Friday from 19:00 at the tent next to the fields. We will put up a grill, so you can bring your own food and put it on the grill for dinner. And you can go swimming in the lake! Camping is also open from 19:00 at the fields. On Saturday breakfast will be served from 8:00 to 10:00 at the fields, Sunday from 7:45 to 10:00. Games will start Saturday at 9:00, the captain's meeting will be at 8:30.

When will I be back?

The award ceremony will be over on Sunday by 16:45.

Camping

You can camp next to the fields. Camping is included in the player's fee for both nights. There are mosquitoes – be prepared.

Food

Please bring your own cutlery, plate/disc and cup. You will get breakfast on both days (included in the player's fee). We will sell BBQ, salads, cakes, beer and soft drinks during both days for fair prices. All water from taps is drinking water. For Saturday's dinner we recommend the restaurants downtown or you can also call a pizza service and relax at the lake.

Green Event

We want to make Südseecup a more green event, so please bring reusable plates/cutlery/cups/bottles to help us reducing our waste. We will have separate trash cans for plastic waste, organic waste, etc. Please separate your waste and use the right garbage! In particular, do not put any plastic bottles into the garbage, as there is a deposit on them!

Print your own Merch!

There will be the opportunity to print your own tournament-souvenir. We have a nice print prepared for you, all you have to do is bringing a light clothing piece, bag,... which you want to print yourself.

A few bags will be there already, but better be quick before the are taken.

It only takes a few minutes and will hopefully remind you of an awesome tournament with intense matches, cool lake breaks and good spirit everywhere around. 🌈🏝️🌞

Tournament Mode

Mixed

We play real mixed (3-4 women on the line, ABBA, chosen by a flip).

Time keeping

Pool stage: 45 minutes or game to 13 points

Knock-out games: 50 minutes or game to 13 points

No half-time. Music jingles inform about game time. Jingles indicate 5 minutes to the game, the start of the game, the last 5 minutes of the game and the end of the game.

Time-outs

Two time-outs per team, but not within the last five minutes.

Game end

A new point starts immediately after the precedent one is scored.

Point cap: Games end at 13 points.

Time cap: When the game time is up, the current point is played out. In the pool stage, the game ends after this point, a draw is possible.
In the knock-out games, one more point is added to the highest score and the first team reaching this wins the game (known as cap +1).

Pool ranking

The pool rankings will be determined by the following criteria:

  1. Number of wins
  2. Number of draws
  3. Number of defeats
  4. Points difference
  5. Number of points scored
  6. Spirit evaluation
  7. Coin flip

Rules

We play current WFDF Rules of Ultimate 2025-2028.

Scoring

Losers score the next game on their field, please. After scoring please let captains sign the score sheet. Please bring back signed score sheets to TD's desk.

Spirit Evaluation

Please submit your spirit sheet after each game to TD's desk as soon as possible.

Pool games: Round robin in every pool.

Cross over games: Pool-second vs pool-third. Bonus games pool-fourth vs. pool-fourth and pool-first vs. pool-first.

Knock-out games: Upper pool: Places 1 - 8. Lower pool: Places 9 - 16.

By car

Parking spots for free can be found on the street 'Obere Laube', on the parking area 'Döbele' and 'St. Stephansplatz' and at the 'Fachhochschule'. There are also charged car parks signposted.
